Come face to face with the wildest animals from around the world! See eye to eye with endangered chimpanzees and orangutans. Get to know the gorillas of The Downing Gorilla Forest. Spend the day with colorful birds, playful penguins, poison dart frogs and more than 3,000 other individual animals of all sizes, shapes and colors. Bring your friends! Bring a sack lunch and a drink.

Description

This class utilizes weights as well as your own weight for strength, mixing in cardio to get the heart rate up and the blood pumping. It offers an amazing selection of cardio, strength, drills and skills for everyday living. This class is designed for progression, any fitness level encouraged to join.


For a multiple fitness class registration discount, you must come to the RHRC office to register.

Yoga-style sessions include a flow of poses that help build strength and flexibility in a balanced way. Each class offers options to allow all participants to individualize the workout to make it more or less challenging. Experience the many physical and emotional benefits that yoga can offer.

Celebrate Freedom with a picnic prepared by your kids! They will have fun working with Truly Amazing Catering to make a 4th of July fresh and fun menu. They will decorate Fourth of July Sugar Cookies, make Brownie Delights, and then fill out the menu with Mac ?n Cheese with Hamburger Sliders. Tell them to bring their friends!

Description

Meet at the rec at noon for a quick lunch before leaving for Aviate - the largest extreme air sports trampoline park in Wichita for 2 hours of jumping before returning to RHRC at approximately 3:30 pm.


Parents must have a waiver signed online before the trip. Waiver is required for jumpers and non-jumpers.

3rd through 4th grades

This league is combined with local towns and some travel on game days will be required. Practices, beginning in August, will be at the discretion of the coaches and will be held during the week in the evenings. Games will be on Saturdays beginning after Labor Day weekend.

Description

The participants are having a great time and learning the art and steps to your favorite Line Dances and more. Our goal is to keep this class moving and to teach you a variety of dances, with the benefit of some cardio. Let our instructor get you feeling confident to go out and show off your new moves and it will even burn off a few calories while you're having a stepping good time. Come join in the fun and stay active at a healthy pace.

Instructor, Tim Deschaine will cover basic scales and learn to play a song from the first to the final chord. Tim Deschaine is an accomplished singer / song writer / guitar player. Versed in many genres of music and a lover of all styles, he brings passion for music to the students, and a well-rounded understanding of the guitar. Bring your own guitar.

Description

This one is back by popular demand! This is a 4-day camp that lets you bring out your theatrical, art, and cooking side. Each day will be spent learning theatre, sampling different forms of art, and trying your hand in cooking different dishes. On day 4 you will get to showcase your talents to your audience, letting them see, touch, and taste all you got to experience all week.


Note: On Thursday, the final day of the camp, the campers would like to invite their parents to come enjoy their Showcase, where they will display their art, you will snack on their cooking creations, while enjoying their theater presentation. That will begin at 12:30 pm on Thursday.

Description

This is a non-sanctioned recreation league. Bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated. League games will be played on Wednesday evenings. Teams must have a minimum of 4 females on the field during play. You can pick up team information and registration packets at the RHRC office.

ZUMBA® is a fusion of Latin and International music / dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and based on the principle that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO." The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

Restore the body by focused breathing and relaxing in a calming environment. Our stretching will target all parts of the body, but will focus on hips, hamstrings, and back. Poses are held for a longer time as we focus on breathing to give the body time to relax and open. This class is a must for all fitness levels, and especially great for those who want to add movement to their life.
